I am gonna enter the next Project:Rooftop redesign contest: Green Lantern. Just started some sketches this week. I'm wanna do a design each for at least 3 lanterns. This is the first: Nu52 Earth 2 Alan Scott Green Lantern.

Currently I am working on some pieces for the next Beasts & Beats Art Show. The theme this time is Nursery Rhymes. I've chosen Wee Willie Winkie. He's a Sandman type character that helps put restless kids to sleep. I envision him as a little scotsman sprite. Here i am trying to develop his look as well as those of the kids before I get started:

One A Day : 30 days FAIL.




fell off the horse for this last month. hit 14 or 30. part of being a little lost artistically. want to do something, but not sure what as I gear up to a life post sjsu...

1 a day / 30 days : month 2

I made it to day 60 of consecutive speed paints. Would be nice if it was double that number, but just hitting the goal was what I was aiming for. I think it is now in my system. This batch I started out stylizing the paintings more. Pretty much after that, my goal was figuring out how to simplify stuff without noodling. After a while, I realized that I need more challenging subject matter and not just what I wanted to use as reference. My next goal is to do 30 days of imagination speed paints. That will be my next goal....

Speed Paint : One Month Difference

What a difference a month makes. This is a speed paint I did twice. The left is a month ago (45 mins). The right I did today (30 mins). I'm happy to see improvement. I have been doing at least one a day. I'm on day 42!

Visceral Games Test : DEAD SPACE World

What I'm going to squeeze out before the end of the semester. 2 weeks left...

1 a day / 30 days

Here are 30 speed paints done in 30 days (45 minutes or less). My new habit and hopefully addiction that won't get derailed. Its easy to say you're gonna do this and then quit. Artist Goro Fujita came by SJSU and recommended doing this saying it wasn't easy, but so helpful to him. I don't see much of a leap, but I did get faster. We'll see how month 2 goes. For now... here's my first 30.
